disability & SENs Care

Disability is not inability

Empowerment is about people being able to have a voice and take control of their own lives and futures.

People living with disabilities have dreams and ambitions, as we all do. Our clients know best what barriers they face, and they and their families are able to identify what they need to overcome them. That is why we at Invictus Care take our lead from our clients in how we can best support them in achieving their goals. We work with our clients as a team in the development of programmes to support them in fulfilling their potential. People with disabilities need to be able to participate in decision making at all levels and we strongly encourage and assist all of our clients in doing this.

Being part of the community

We passionately believe that all people are equal and strongly promote opportunities to create an equal and inclusive society where people with disabilities have the same access to opportunities as those without. People with disabilities have often been seen as passive recipients of care, reduced to their impairment-related health needs, instead of individuals who can just as easily be contributors to community life, the workplace and the wider society.

We believe that people with disabilities should participate in all spheres of society on an equal basis with their non-disabled peers.

Outstanding life skill programmes

We therefore focus on developing skills that will make a difference and enhance the lives of our clients. Skills such as

Social skills,

Independent living skills (cooking, cleaning, managing money, etc.)

Staying safe in the community

We also support

Work based skills (using computers, computer based applications, etc.)

Interview techniques

We arrange voluntary/ work placements and support with mentoring and coaching throughout.

working together

We involve the experts – those living with disability, in all stages of our programmes – planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation, ensuring that what we help to delivery has the very greatest impact on lives.

We believe that we can achieve more by working together. Invictus Care Group works with local business and charities, among other partners to help transform the lives of people with disabilities and build a more inclusive world.
